Ric Roberts

Elder

Ric Roberts was born and reared in Cleveland, Ohio, in a Christian home. In 1969, he moved to California for his education, graduating from Culver City Bible School with a Certificate in Biblical Studies, Pepperdine University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry, and USC with a Master’s Degree in Computer Science. While at Pepperdine, Ric met and married Kathy, his wife of 43 years and a retired teacher. They have two adult children who Kathy homeschooled through high school, Sean, a paramedic preceptor, and Dr. Courtney Roberts, a chemistry researcher.

Ric recently retired from Raytheon Company as a chief engineer after 40 years. He loves robotics, and has been the FIRST Robotics Los Angeles Regional Chairman for the last 10 years. Ric and Kathy have shepherded two separate MiniChurches. Ric’s current passions are teaching the Hope Kids’ four-year-olds class for the last 10 years, and the Shepherding Workshop - to train new MiniChurch Shepherds - for the last three years with Kathy. He strives to love Jesus more and more every day. He is currently on Church Council.
