Read Acts 28:11-30
DEVOTIONAL THOUGHTS
In the final section of Acts, Paul arrives in Rome and continues to preach the Gospel. The final line of the book is a powerful one. It reads that he was “proclaiming the kingdom of God and teaching about the Lord Jesus Christ with all boldness and without hindrance.” Over the final chapters of Acts, Paul has experienced opposition, persecution, false accusations, a shipwreck, the bite of a poisonous snake, and years of imprisonment. But we read that even now, God continues to use him to spread the name of Jesus. All of these evil occurrences, the very chain of events that have lead Paul to Rome, produced a time in which Paul could preach in the most important city of his day. God takes evil and uses it for good.
“God is so powerful that He can direct any evil to a good end.”
– Thomas Aquinas
